I always loved to create, never thought I’ll design banners and flyers but one thing led to another and I found my self in a job that required me to do just that (among other things like building the company web site and a lot of BizDev). The first flyer I made was really OK (it was bad), it had spelling mistakes (that was on me), and it was printed and handed out, a customer pointed out the mistakes (I learned from that a lot). In the next company I worked for, I had evermore designing to do. We had a big digital marketing budget and a lot of ads to create at that point I knew the I had to step it up and become a digital marketing design machine with an insatiable appetite for creative and eye-catching ads. So I did just that.
After 6 years of design digital assets, I started giving lectures on how to create digital marketing banners fast for any platform and still give it a creative twist. I don’t teach my students art, only how to get the “click” (that sweet “click”) – that is why they enroll in the digital marketing courses I teach in (It would be fun to teach digital art, maybe one day, after my company’s exit).
Long story short, I had hundreds of students in the last couple of years and they had thousands of questions every class, so this year I started recording my answers and uploading it to youtube, (so they could leave me alone) (hahaha, LOVE my students)
Be creative, practice a lot and you too can be a digital marketing banner designer (it doesn’t have to look good, it just needs to get potential clients to click on it)
